Gadgers Match Results 2011
Results - Results

It was a welcome change to have glorious sunshine on Saturday for the 7th annual "Gadgers" Match, held on all 3 lakes.

As explained at the draw by Andy Phyllis, the name Gadger is a Yorkshire term for a mate or good friend. Many years ago Andy and his Gadger Graham attended a teach in at Holgan Farm and at the end of each days fishing they held a 2 man match between the pair of them. Graham never uses a pole and was soundly beaten every day by Andy using the pole. Graham then christened poles "cheating sticks" and claimed that he wouldn't be beaten if a match was fished using only rod and reel. Thus the "Gadgers Match" was born and poles are left in the car for the day. Incidentally, Graham is still waiting to win his first "Gadgers Match".

Autumn Festival Results 2010
Results - Results
Another year gone in the blink of an eye and the autumn festival came round again, 36 took part and this year was the first time where all 6 matches counted with your worst result being dropped. The weather was patchy as was the fishing, with the Tench lake as expected being solid by the end of the week. Also it was clear that the fish were moving round so formulating a plan depending on the draw was near impossible.

There were however some surprise results in particular Graham Block who had a fantastic festival fishing tidy and simple all week and just missing out on 3rd place by 1 point, fishing his first proper festival.

However the crown of the 2010 champion went to Steve Baraclough who fished brilliantly all week, and from some tough draws and finishing on 6 points from a 5 day festival, and well deserved it was to.

Ian Heaps showed good form as expected catching some tidy fish on the waggler on a couple of days and finishing 2nd overall with 9 points.
