Here we are twelve months on and it was time to pack the bags once
again to try and defend the Lilford Lodge Shield. For any newcomers to
the site this is a match between Holgan Farm Angling Club and a side
from the bah gum county of Yorkshire known as Magical Marking. It is an
annual event that is held on a neutral water just outside of the pretty
town of Oundle. Over the years Holgan Farm has never lost the match but
this year it was felt that Andy Phillis had assembled a pretty strong
side and were favourites to take the trophy.

Ian Heaps’ Autumn Festival will take place from 12th Oct to 17th Oct 2008.
The cost is £137.50 all in for the three festival matches.
The three festival matches will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In addition there are three open matches to be held on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday for which there is a £20 match fee. If you wish to enter please fill out the form with your details and return to me by the closing date of Fri 19th September 2008.

Pembrokeshire Fishweek is nine years old this year. Over that period of
time it has successfully grown in to a very popular tourist attraction. It was
born as a fishing competition to catch sewen in the lower reaches of the River
Cleddau and has continued to introduce various types of fishing competitions
throughout the county. This year it appears that it has been the best year for
entrants into the various competitions, including the Holgan Farm Coarse Angling
Fish Week.

39 anglers gathered last weekend to contest this year’s
annual Spring Festival. The field was a lot more open than in previous years so
hopes were high that with an element of
luck and good fortune at the draw they would be leaving at the end of
the week with an extra few pounds in their pockets.
