Carp Lake - Sunday 5th August

A bit of a lack lustre day today by Holgan standards, but then the first four placed anglers all caught in excess of 50lb so surely things can't be that bad. It was a day of two halves weather wise, with tropical sunshine burning us all to a crisp until 2 o'clock when the monsoon season descended upon us. I'd like to be able to use the excuse of inclement weather to excuse my own poor performance but the reason is only too obvious, with 1st and second places coming from either side of me the remainder of the fish were never going to reach my peg. And as an old sage once said, "If the fish ain't in front of you........"

But congratulations to Luke Sorokin who fished a fine match to take the honours off peg 22 fishing worm in the margins without any feed. This comes a week after Luke travelled to Woodland View to take on the English and showed them the way home with a win. Apparently he beat the reigning FishoMania champion off the next peg.

Top four results as follows;

1st Luke Sorokin peg 22 - 81lb 8oz
2nd Richard Baldwin peg 26 - 61lb 11oz ( Shotgun feeder to island)
3rd Neil Daniels peg 21 - 52lb 10oz (Caster shallow 14 mtrs)
4th Keith Tuson peg 29 - 51lb 14oz (Worm in the margins)
