Carp Lake - Sunday 12th August
Carp Lake - Sunday 12th August - 2007/08/13 00:25
What a difference a simple rule change can make, no sooner had Ian scrapped the "no method feeder" rule than Doris took full advantage and emptied his peg with a massive weight of 142lb 8oz using a 20gm, small method feeder with four dead red maggots as hookbait. Fishing peg 12 he fished to the tree at the end of the island, a known holding spot for carp and soon had them crawling up his line. How long the honeymoon period will last before the carp get wise to method feeders is anyone's guess but even yours truly managed to snag a few kamikaze fish using the same method.

It wouldn't be a result without Luke Sorokin being mentioned somewhere and he snuck in with 70lb 10oz to take second place. Pete Edwards (aka Duffman) of Ultima Lines fame came good towards the end of the match to take the third place spot with 52lb after spending most of the match walking the bank. Doris made the remark that Pete is now hoping for new sponsorship with Clark's shoes because he wore out two pairs on Sunday. Neil Daniels picked peg 29 which was a bit ironic because he was hoping for a long walk to his peg seeing as he has just bought a new Penrose barrow but after spending an hour loading and lashing down his tackle he had to push it a whole five yards to his peg. It was all downhill from there with Neil treating everyone to his rich vocabulary of swear words as he lost foul hooker after foul hooker but still managed to gain 4th place with a creditable 46lb 2oz.

Results are as follows:

1st Nigel Morris 142lb 8oz peg 12
2nd Luke Sorokin 70lb 10oz peg 26
3rd Pete Edwards (Ultima Lines)52lb 0oz peg 8
4th Neil Daniels 46lb 2oz peg 29
