Carp Lake - Sunday 2nd Sept
Carp Lake - Sunday 2nd Sept - 2007/09/04 11:22
As Luke Sorokin was heard to remark at the beginning of the match, " First time I've witnesseed a match here when there's not a pole in sight." A true statement though with everyone keen to cash in on the in-line feeder craze. John Charlesworth got off to a flyer from peg 10 with a carp in the net in the first minute of the match, if only he could have maintained that sort of catch rate he would have been a national hero. Unfortunately it wasn't to be and soon Luke on the favoured peg 12 fishing method feeder to the tree on the end of the island had the carp eating out of his hand and went into an unassailable lead (or so he and everyone else thought.)
Keeping in touch with the leader throughout was the master of surprise, Doris on peg 8, poised like a heron waiting to make his move. As soon as he saw Luke mentally counting his winnings, Doris pounced with once again a move of great tactical brilliance to catch a succession of carp to pip Luke to the winning post.
Winning results were:

1st Nigel Morris - 85lb 8oz (Willis Worms)
2nd Luke Sorokin - 80lb 8oz (Boyo Pellet Wagglers)
3rd Neil Daniels - 45lb 12oz (Cutting Edge Technologies)

Due to the away match at Oundle next Sunday there will be no Open Match, normal service will resume on Sunday 16th Sept.
