Carp Lake Open-16th January 2008

Carp Lake Open-16th January 2008 - 2008/01/16 23:44

Eight anglers turned out today with the weather holding fair after an early morning storm. The Match should have taken place on the Match Lake but due to localised flooding was changed to the Carp Lake.

Keith Moore drew the in form peg 4 and didn't disappoint. Fishing corn shallow to the island he snared a few to take second place. Mike Williams on the opposite bank had a difficult time for most of the match and managed to catch a few late on using pellet in the deep water on the pole.

The plaudits go to Ian Heaps who again selected peg 8 and fished to the island using maggot on the waggler. He claimed top spot with his first fish being a 12lb carp.

1st Ian Heaps........30lb 4oz.......Peg 8.
2nd Keith Moore......20lb 12oz......Peg 4.
3rd Mike Williams....19lb 6oz.......Peg 25.

Bites were hard to come by and most other anglers only caught two stockies apiece. The theory was that with all the rain and thunder over the past few days it had put the fish off. But Ians catch scuppered that thought.
Brevity is the soul of lingerie!!!!
