Club Match-20th January 2008-Carp Lake - 2008/01/20 13:48

It would seem that the weather ruled again today as thirteen anglers vied for bragging rights. What a day with the wind blowing and the rain falling all the fish were sheltering in the bowl area of the lake.

It was good to see the return to Holgan of Neil Daniels who has been on his annual jaunt to South Africa. Seems he left all the fish there and weighed in a paltry 16lb 4oz. He said he enjoyed the match. Yeeeah right!!!!!

Richard Baldwin had a slow start on peg 15 in the bowl but turned it around by the all out. Fishing quite close to the margins on a full tin of corn attached to a bomb he returned a respectable 46lb to take the win. It was interesting the fact that he used SEVEN tins of corn during the match. I think he probably ate them.

In second place was his buddy from Gwent Neil Morgan fishing a mixture of maggot and corn off peg 3. I expect he had acquired earache on the way home before they got to Whitland.

Third spot went to Michael Watts fishing the method feeder to all parts off peg 22.

1st Richard Baldwin......46lb 0oz.....Peg 15.
2nd Neil Morgan..........32lb 14oz....Peg 3.
3rd Michael Watts........30lb 0oz.....Peg 22.
4th Mark Close...........25lb 3oz.....Peg 25.
5th Lewis Spink..........14lb 12oz....Peg 12.
6th Keith Moore..........5lb 2oz......Peg 23.

There were as you may have noticed other weights higher than those listed. However those weights are not counted in the club standings. Difficult to explain but I am sure that if you want an explanation Ian would be only too glad to oblige.

See you all soon.
