| 31st January 2007-Match Lake |
|
Here we go. Wait for it, wait for it. The match today was due to be held on the Tench Lake, but the concensus of opinion was that the lake would be hard to fish with 10 anglers on it, so, it was agreed by all present that the Match Lake would take priority. The Wednesday Angling Tournament Society held its weekly dangle under the supervision of Mr Ian Heaps. The draw took place at 09.00 with only one angler not in attendance. That was Mark Goodall. Heapsy drew his peg for him and he drew peg 25. Mark went on to win the match with a superb 110lb catch, a lake record for the Match Lake in a 6 hour match. Although we only fished 5.5hrs. Congratulations were given to Mark by all anglers present. It was indeed a terrific effort. Neil Daniels, the legend in his own lunchtime drew the fancied peg 3 and had a skimmer of a day with 29lb. He still insisted on wearing that silly hat though. Eric Rimmer took some stick before the match and went on to fish a decent match for a change, returning around 27lb. 1st Mark Goodall 110lb Peg 25 2nd Mike Williams 50lb 11oz Peg 19 3rd Jim Hutton 48lb 13oz Peg 8 4th Andrew Smith 44lb Peg 27 5th Luke Sorokin 40lb 4oz Peg 23 6th Keith Tuson 38lb 12oz Peg 6 Another good days fishing with over 400lb of fish caught between 10 anglers. Well done Mark on a truly great return. By the way Heapsy brought up the rear with around 17lb, but you know what they say 'if you didn't weigh in, ya cuaght sod all'. |
