Sunday 28th Jan 07 - Carp Lake
Rumour has it that the casualty department of Withybush Hospital was today inundated with calls from frantic brass monkeys. Maybe there's an element of truth in the rumour because with a northerly wind blowing for most of the day fishing in the high numbered pegs was hard, while those lucky enough to draw a peg on the "Bermuda Bank" had for the most part an excellent days fishing.
First place this week went to Neil Daniels who is slowly becoming a legend in his own lunchtime, fishing the method which he has claimed as his own (the pellet wag) returned a catch of 109lb 4oz to the scales. A fine winter catch by any standards.
Special note should be made here of another fine performance by Andy Smith of Neath who drew the normally unfancied peg 1 and showing great dexterity managed to winkle out a selection of F1's, Tench, goldfish and the odd carp from the middle of the bullrushes to weigh in a magnificent 71lb 2oz. Luckily our resident photographer managed to record him in action before the batteries ran out on the camera.

Overall results are as follows:

1st Neil Daniels - 109lb 4oz - peg 7
2nd Andy Smith - 71lb 2oz - peg 1
3rd Nigel Morris - 68lb 10oz - peg 26
4th Keith Tuson - 57lb 12oz - peg 9
5th Rob Jones - 50lb 6 oz - peg 21
6th Mike Williams- 37lb 0oz - peg 24

Daftest Hat prize goes to Andy Smith, with Neil Daniels coming in a close second.

The draw for next week's match will be at 8am and will finish earlier than usual due to some rugby match or something.
