Club Match 3
nother good turn out for the club with 15 anglers from as far as Caerphilly and Brecon turning out.
The drop in temperature and overnight frost made the fishing harder than recent matches and this was reflected in the lower than average weights returned today by the club.

However once Keith "Darkhorse" Moore had pulled the much fancied peg 25 on the lake then it was only a formality. The results were as follows:

1st - Keith Moore - Peg 25 - 27-7lb: fishing 12.5m pole to the lillies using soft pellets had a mixed bag of small carp, bream and orfe.

2nd - Jack Jackson (Brecon) - Peg 9 - 19-10lb: fishing mainly the waggler to the island with maggots had skimmers and 2 carp, one being a stonking 12-8lb "Personal Best" ghost common carp (as pictured below). Well done to Jack!

3rd - Jim Hutton - Peg 27 - 17-3lb : Fishing long & short pole with various baits Jim had a mixed bag of small carp, skimmers & roach.

4th - Daniel - Peg 21 - 16-14lb: Fishing a waggler to the deeper water with pellet & corn had 3 good carp and some skimmers.

5th - Bill - Peg 23 - 15-10lb: Fishing a waggler to the lillies with corn he had a mixed bag of small carp and skimmers.

6th - Niall Bridge - Peg 10 - 15-4lb: I fished 6 sections out and had bream, skimmers and one 10-8lb carp wich led me a merry dance on light elastic for close to 40 minutes.

My modest catch!

All in all a good day was had by everyone which saw Jack's fish taking the current lead in the biggest fish competion and Keith Darkhorse taking the lead in the club standings.
See you all next time (carp lake)
