The day started off so well....warm sunshine, good company, good hearted banter, the prospect of filling a net with roach and bream in our first silver fish match for a long time. Pre match reports told of huge bags of silver fish being caught all week on various baits and from any peg at any depth, all you had to do is cast out and millions of fish were waiting to impale themselves on your hook. Yea right........ the fish disappeared as fast as the sun, anglers on the high numbered pegs were subjected to bouts of exposure, and to add insult to injury our usual quarry of carp and crucians were all queuing up to be caught only to be put straight back. Boy did we laugh!!!
The best fun I've had since the day my granny caught her tits in the mangle.

Some people however did manage to put together a half decent weight, here is the roll of honour:

1st Sean Pollock (Brecon) 17lb 4oz Caster, bottom of shelf
2nd Mike Williams (Neath) 13lb 13oz caster
3rd Nigel Morris (Neath) 12lb 15oz
4th Luke Sorokin (Neath) 8lb 0oz
