4th April 2007-Carp Lake - 2007/04/04 15:05
Eight hardy anglers braved the elements today. Strong sunshine and lightish winds burnt Doris' head and Mike Williams nose but it didn't stop them picking up the spoils.

It was a match of sporadic proportions with yours truly bagging around 40lb in the first 90minutes then Mike started catching off the island from peg 23. After Mike started it was Doris' turn with the pellet waggler on peg 21. Then Eric decided to get in on the act catching carp in fairly shallow water from peg 27. Meanwhile I was stuck in the middle of them on peg 25 without a bite. It became a close match in the end with 9lb separating the first 4 places.

I must point out that because Dark Horse didn't draw into the car park until 09.00hrs we had to have a re-draw and Eric insisted that we did. He pulled 27 and Doris had a good moan at that.

As we got further into the draw when it came to Doris' turn to draw he insisted that Dominic, his son who incidentally takes after his mother in the looks department (THANK GOD). It would seem that some sort of impropriety took place and instead of having peg 9 Doris ended up with peg 21. Your teaching him well Doris. If you use the letters in teaching you will come up with a rather apt word as to what went on.

Luke Sorokin on peg 29 can't count and had 69lb in one net and nothing in the other. Ian has promised to buy him an abacus to count his pounds on.

1st Michael Williams 84lb 7oz Peg 23
2nd Nigel Morris (unattached) 82lb 4oz peg 21
3rd Eric Rimmer (unhinged) 81lb Peg 27
4th Keith Tuson (inconsoleable) 75lb 9oz Peg 25
5th Luke Sorokin (Boyo Pellet Waggler) 65lb Peg 29
6th Keith Moore 61lb Peg 9

520lb of fish between 8 anglers averaging around 68lb per angler. A pretty good days fishing.

All complaints on a postcard to Mr. Alun Clarke. C/O The Bridgend Home for the Bewildered, Nuthouse Street, Bridgend.
